Ian Holland (Chair of Governors)

Born in Embsay, near Skipton and brought up most of my life in Bradford. I am a retired neuroradiologist and worked for more than 40 years in the NHS at hospitals throughout England. I am married with three sons and three grandchildren and have always had an interest in education, serving as a School Governor in Nottingham and believing it is important to get a good start in education. Having three boys who were choristers I have outside interests in music and the Church having served as a warden for a short time at Bridlington Priory. However my real interest is in Railways of all shapes and sizes

Stuart Smith (Vice Chair)

I have lived in Wold Newton for almost 20 years, both my children attended Wold Newton school and thoroughly enjoyed their time there.  My wife Janet also works at the school.  Currently, I am Vice Chair of Governors and greatly enjoy visiting the school and spending time with pupils and staff.

Alison Blyth

I am a mum of three boys and have worked with children from 6wks to 13yrs for the past 30+ years in many different settings and from all backgrounds. I am extremely passionate that all children should reach their potential and enjoy supporting school to achieve this. My role as a governor consists of SEN, EYFS, interviewing and helping within the class rooms when requested.

Anne Duerden

I work at Wold Top Brewery running the events side of the business where we host weddings, brewery tours, music and beer festivals to name a few!  Before that, I was business manager at Wold Newton School where I worked in a variety of roles for seventeen years.  I have two grown up children who both spent their primary school years at Wold Newton.  I care deeply about the school and try to use my knowledge and financial expertise to benefit the governing body whenever possible.

Elke Fraser (Safeguarding Governor)
I have two children at Wold Newton Foundation School.

I work as a clinical pharmacist in a GP surgery.  Part of my responsibilities at the school are to assist as safeguarding governor. I am passionate about all of the children at Wold Newton to be safe, to blossom in their different abilities and to be challenged to go further.
